Review content:
I am a tenant currently renting from Rathbun Realty. I have rented many times and have never dealt with such morons, here are a few examples:
1.) The day before I moved in they called late in the evening to ask us to postpone our move because they needed to still fix things.
2.)They call EVERY month to yell at me for not paying my rent, when they have misplaced it EVERY time, because I have paid it early and on time.
3.) They called and told me that they would be inspecting my home from 9am-4pm. I stayed home all day to be greeted by a repair man that said he had to fix my outlets, when I never approved of a repair man to fix my outlets...they then charged me a $50 fee for sending a repair man out?? AND i got to waste my whole day off waiting for NO home inspector.
4.)They charged me $80 for making an ""unnecessary"" work order for informing them that my washer does not work.
5.)I moved into my home in May, when inspecting the house I asked how to work my heater, and work the alarm system the inspector said ""I don't know"" It is now getting 40 degrees at night and I live in a house built in the 1930's..I called to ask how to turn on heater, woman was very rude to me told me to file work order and I would get help within 24 hours....48 hours later I called again they said they didn't get my work order (even though I got a verification email saying they did) and to resubmit one. ONE WEEK LATER I called and asked them to please show me how to operate my old gas heater they said they would only if I would pay. Pay for something that their poorly educated staff should have showed me on day one. Turns out, I called a man to come look at it and he said it hadn't been working in years & if i attempted to light it how the lady told me to I would have blown up the property. My rental agreement states I have a working heater= FAT LIE.
6.) My house lost power everywhere except in the living room over the christmas holiday season. It took them three days to send someone to fix it...it was apparently nothing ""urgent""
7.) The heater broke and I could see my own breath inside my house, when I called and told them how cold it was because our 'new' heater was not working a lady responded with ""well my house is cold too..."" then they decided to close up shop for 4 days in a row and neglected to tell me that after calling them 5 times in one day because they ignored the issue with my heater. This important message about their office being closed was not on their answering machine and I drove down there to see why no one was answering my calls and figured this out & I had to call someone to fix the heater myself.
If these stories don't make you change your mind about Rathbun then I don't know what will. I don't pay a good amount to live in a dump & get treated so poorly.
