Review content:
I took my cat into Dove Lewis on a Saturday when my current vet wasn't open. After I waited for a while someone came from the back office to talk to me about his symptoms. He picked up my cat by the scruff of his neck, which I right away didn't like, then he took him into the back room to get x-rays. I wassn't allowed to go with him. I could hear my cat yowling in the waiting room until the vet tech stuck his head out the door and told me they were going to sedate him. I had told the vet it looked like my cat was trying to cough up something but only muchus was coming out. I guess they took this as a proffessional diagnosis because even after the x-rays came back with no sighs of a blockage or foriegn body they prescribed a treatment plan that involved more x-rays, an IV, an edoscopy and then surgury. All of this of an inconclusive x-ray. The bill would have been more than 3000 dollars. I told them I needed a second opinion and paid them 300 dollars for the x-rays and sedation that already took place. When I got the second opinion the vet told me my cat had a respritory infection and would be fine after a course of antibiotics and some recorvy food. The second opinion was right. When I think about the treatment plan that Dove Lewis had for my cat, the cost, and that it would have done absolutely nothing, I feel like I should tell everyone to avoid them like the plague. They were sterile, impersonal and acted like they didn't even like animals. I will never go back there again
Pros: open evenings and weekends
Cons: expensive, impersonal, and incorrect
