Funny story ... We closed Mel's this past Saturday at 2am (with extra hour for Daylight Savings). The bouncers turned off the lights and we took our last shots on the pool table before being herded out the door. We couldn't find one of our friends, even looked inside the bar. So we figured that he must have slipped out early and headed home. After all, all night he had been saying how he was going to play Ultimate Frisbee the next day at noon. So Craig, who was sober, drove us all back to Wauwatosa where we crashed at my place. Next morning, my wife has four missed calls at 4am from our friend's wife, worried about him. We get a call from him about that time and evidently he had been grabbing extra drinks earlier in the night, but at Mel's it caught up to him. He threw up in the bathroom, then passed out on the toilet until 7:30am. Evidently the bouncers didn't check at all! When he got up and left, he set off all the bar alarms on his way out.\r

....Other than that .... \r
Mel's has free popcorn, a nice open bar, and two nice pool tables. Nicely refurbished along with Duke's. Used to have Trivia Night on Monday's but too bad they don't hold it anymore.
Pros: Pool, open space, popcorn
