Review content:
I lived in New Orleans from 2001-2003 and Kyoto was a frequent favorite during my time there. I was thrilled to see that it had weathered Katrina. Though the fish isn't quite as good as I remember, Kyoto's is still among the best sushi places in New Orleans. Recently, I went back with a group of 10 high school students and two other adults from Oregon on a rebuilding trip to New Orleans. We were seated together in the back of the restaurant, which was a welcome change from other small restaurants that insisted on splitting us up. The service was very attentive and the students enjoyed their meals - though many of them ordered from the dinner menu and the dishes came out over a 10 minute span. Service from the sushi bar was much prompter. When we had a mishap over the tip on the bill, the staff graciously corrected the error more than a week after the fact, an act that has permanently won my loyalty to this fine uptown restaurant. Pros: Easy parking in the lot across the street, green tea ice cream Cons: The wait can get long if you show up after 7
