What a tidy little near-monopoly these folks have at the good old boy Frankfort Plant Board! In a state capitol, one company controls it all; water, electric, cable and phone. Oh, you can get service for some of these things from outside sources....for a price.\r

From the very DAY I moved here in April of '06, I began to be warned of the problems I'd have contacting the FBP, setting up service and with billing. Sure enough, it's been a nightmare each and every time I have contacted this organization.\r

Three times I have been sitting at my dsk at work and gotten a call that these folks were on their way to my home to check my Internet connection. Hello! I AM AT WORK! Why would they think I can drop all to meet them at my home?! I've paid for at least two weeks of Internet service I have not received due to interruptions and other local network issues. Haven't even bothered to get a home phone due to the waiting period to have service connected; we just use our cells. This is not a big town folks! It shouldn't take weeks to get a phone.\r

Today is Friday and I just made my SEVENTH phone call to the FPB this week requesting my utilities be switched to my new address. I close on my house today. When you call the FPB, any time of day, any day of the week, you get a recording saying they having an 'unusually high call volume'. The hire more people!!!!! In one of the lowesst wage areas of the country, it shouldn't cost that much to bring a few more customer no-service reps on to the staff. \r

One such rep called for me at my office today while I was out. My coworker gave the rep my cell (which said rep already had on their voicemail), and the rep just 'uh-huhed', she wasnt writing it down so of course I never got a call. \r

It's enough to just make me want to get a gas generator, have propane shipped in and just use kerosene lamps. This company is a disgrace to the capitol of Kentucky!
