OK, this may take a while. Decided on a Sunday night I wanted breakfast. Have driven past this place for 4 years, always cars outside, so decided this was the night to try it. After all, who can mess up breakfast? The Metro Cafe Diner can! \r Ordered the Western Omelet, a couple of pieces of French Toast and grits. \r Omelet: tasted like overly cooked egg beaters. Plus they had been cooked like a pancake, flipped over, cooked on other side, then folded in half. HUH? I think some type of machine was involved. too perfect.\r French Toast: obviously some type of frozen food service mess. Real french toast has some evidence of egg dipping on all sides. Not this, the inch thick pieces of bread had no evidence of egg on the crusts and were not even cooked inside, instead were gooey and raw when I cut in.\r Grits: well basics...put salt in water before adding grits and stir when you add them to avoid lumps. They did neither. \r OK,,,called manager over, expressed my specific concerns and he countered that all of their food is cooked from scratch (hate when people bold-faced lie to my face) he offered to bring me something else. \r Ok,,I asked for the Eggs Benedict, easy, fool-proofed so I thought. I was wrong. Looked good coming out (being generous because I won't even comment on the 'hollandaise' sauce on top.) Scraped if off and went for the egg, Canadian bacon and english muffin. Vinegar,,,why is my mouth tasting like vinegar? Overwhelmingly like vinegar All I could taste i vinegar. Arghhh....manager!\r His response was something about working on a cruise ship and that's the way they have always cooked them and no one has ever complained. After telling him I could not eat them, he again offered another dish. I politely declined. The only saving grace was the $3.00 glass of house Cabernet that kept me occupied while I waited for decent food that never came. Wishing I'd opted for IHOP or even Waffle House.
