So, my mother hired this group to pain her kitchen. The first day went slowly, and not much was completed. She wasn't happy about the fact that they did not use primer. She pays them in full at the end of the day. The second day, the same group comes back out, leaves for lunch around 11a. The owner and a couple of different guys show up around 3p. By this time, their things were outside, and they were asked to leave. All right, here's where things get interesting ... my mother posts a blog entry on servicemagic about her experience. The owner repeatedly calls her cell phone for an hour (16 calls in a 48 minute span) in response to the post, and leaves the most horrid voicemail you can imagine, calling her a liar, calling her psychotic, vaguely threatening her, directing her to remove the post, etc. Mind you, my mother is 5ft 4in tall, and 50-some odd years old. Long story short, she calls me, and I call the owner - Jim. Jim and I speak off and on over the course of the next two days about how to rectify the situation. Jim and I agree to have the post removed in exchange for 1/2 of my mother's payment back. Given her dissatisfaction, and the fact that they did indeed come out, I felt this to be a fair comprimise, as did Jim (to my knowledge at the time). This was before Valentine's Day, the check was to be mailed out the week of 2/14 - 2/18. Today is March 6, 2011, and there has been no check received. So, what we have here is a company delivering a questionable product, that is operated by a dishonest person. \r \r The work was bad. My mother hired another fellow who had previously worked on different areas of the home to come out, who was able to complete the ENTIRE job, including the corrections made necessary by Dilworth's Painting and their paint-slinging ways, in one business day.\r \r I'm sure tons of people have been satisfied by this company, and I'm sure future patrons will share in their experience; however, this is the experience that my family and I had.\r \r I'm not going to make a call one way or another on their service, as I didn't hire or pay them (my mother, however, did pay them IN FULL following the 1st day) but I felt that I should share our experience. Take it for what you will.
