Review content:
I have boarded my dogs in states of CA, NV, IL, IA, MO & Atlanta. Not ever hav I had any negative comments regarding my dogs. In fact, all staff in all kennels loved them. They actually stayed in a MO kennel for 30 days which is a very long time but did very well adjusting. I moved here 4 months ago and kenneled them at Smith Farms. My intial feeling are described as not feeling any warmth with the owner. However, I had been on the road 10 days and moved here for work and did not know anyone in Atlanta and this was the closest kennel to my work. Plus the reviews seemed ok. It is now 4 months later and I am leaving for the weekend and needed to board my dogs. The owner of Smith Farms told another boarding place that my dogs were not friendly and did not warm up to them. Thus, I was denied. I called Smith and they did return my call as I was trying to investigate what they had disclosed. The good thing was I had them at daycare (of whom I will name) for temperment testing yesterday, the kennel feel in love with them and will be keeping them this weekend. I really feel as though Smith Farms did not take into consideration adjustment issues and maybe my dogs just didn't feel safe there or didn't like the staff. I have breed Japanese Akita's for 10 years and fostered shelter dogs for 5. I just really feel as though Smith Farms does not understand how to help dogs adjust. So, in short if you're moving to Atlanta DONT SEND THEM HERE. Go to Wagging Tails or Rex and Roxy's.
