Review content:
While traveling I-40 I noticed a loud high pitched howel in the rear axle of my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I decided to spend the night in Kingman, call for help, and hope for the best outcome of my delima!\r \r I phoned ""A-Art's Mobile Mechanic, he asked me if I would drive my Jeep to his house... Note: This is Labor Day Weekend"", Art test drove my Jeep, asked me to follow him to his repair shop.. I realized this wasn't ""HIS"" repair shop-but a gas station, mini mart, with what appeared to be another business--I relaized he was ""Sub-Contracting Service"" to an outside soarse.\r \r Art drove me to my motel, said he would call me with the results of his diagnosis of my Jeep..Art told me there would be a $250.00 analysis fee whether or not I had him do the repairs. ""I'm held captive""!\r \r Art called me with-in a few hours and said the right rear axle, bearing & seal needed replacing, ""The cost of repairs"" $1,070.91 ""Shocked at this repair estimate"" I asked Art if he could pick me up at my motel room? (only one mile away) Art replied: Sir, I am a businessman! NOT a ""Taxi-Cab"" if you want a ride to view my findings there will be a $50.00 fee added to your repair bill... ""RED-FLAG""!!!\r \r Wanting to get back on the road, I said: Repair the car. After a 3 day wait for an axle to be shipped from Phoenix, AZ, the installation being completed, Art phoned, said my Jeep was finished. Art picked me up at my motel, we test drove my Jeep, I told Art--the rear end still has the same terrible sound! He replied: Oh-NO, it's all fixed, your just hearing your snow tires making noise!\r \r Art DID-NOT do the proper repairs to my vehicle, Art charged me $563.71 for one axle shaft--I later learned this type of Jeep axle shaft retails for $159.99 Total repair bill $1,070.91 A very large rip-off by the dishonest pricing by Mr. Art...\r \r I reached my destination (400 miles west of Kingman), took my Jeep to a known mechanic, he (rebuilt the rear end) by replacing 4 additional bearings.. Parts & Labor $380.00 The mechanic said: ""How could Art NOT of noticed these bearings, shavings of steel mixed in the rear end fluids?""\r \r I met 2 people in Kingman, AZ who said they had Art do repairs on their vehicles.. however, would NEVER recommend his services to anyone! They said he overcharged them as well..!! Mr. Art is a ""Price Gouger"" taking advantage of others.. I DO NOT Recommend this man to anyone! \r \r BEWARE Kingman.. there is a thief among your flock!\r \r \r \r \r
