Ate here with the wife and friends 9/22/06. Upon entering you'll notice an odd smell to the place, probably due to the seafood at the salad bar. We first had some drinks at the bar as we got there early. I was suprised they charge $7 for a 12oz draft beer (Michelob). $7 and not even a pint! They charge $9 for a Jack & Coke. So liquor is very expensive here. The salad bar had sushi but sadly is wasn't very good. It was ice cold, much colder than sushi should be served, therefore had little flavor. The meats, while very diverse in type, were mostly very fatty. I personally prefer good cuts of meat without the gelatinous fat. The problem here is they give you a small, and I mean small, single slice and move on. You can ask them for more but either way eating in this manner is more like picking on a left over chicken in your fridge. The filet mignon was pretty good but not out of this world - again, small slices. Overall, for a prix-fix dinner you can indeed eat more than you can handle so it's a good value. I'm writing this review though since so many people were saying it's the best meal they've ever eaten. My wife and I have been all around the world and to some of the best eateries so we can honestly say this isn't anywhere near being fantastic. Most people that rave must not get out to great restaurant's very often. So don't go there with high expectations and keep track of the liqour charges and you'll be good to go. I'd certainly recommend trying this restaurant but I'm not really planning on going back - just not as great as other places I know in the city. Pros: Can sit large groups, can eat as much as you want Cons: Expensive beer/liquor, meat served in small single slices, so many servers running around it's cramped.
