Review content:
I am the banquet manager at Val Vista Lakes and wanted the opportunity to respond to the review given on 1-15-09. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service to our clients because we realize that word of mouth referrals are the best form of advertisement. This review was the first I was made aware of the client’s concerns and I wanted to address them personally. \r \r In regards to our staff calling for assistance from the Sheriff’s office I wanted to provide some insight on our policies. For the security of events, we hire an off duty Sherriff’s Deputy to be on site in case the clients, or their vendors, need assistance. We, like most venues, have a policy on not allowing self serving of alcohol. We take this policy very seriously given the negative ramifications that can result from such an action. Luckily, we don’t encounter this very often given the client’s bartender usually has a firm handle on not allowing this to happen. However, if it does occur it is our practice for staff to try and remedy it themselves by confronting the individual(s) to explain the policy and if need be contacting the clients and alerting them in hopes to bring it to an end. Usually the last resort (if the requests are not being responded to) is asking the Deputy on duty to mediate. I can assure you that any steps taken to end this practice are for the safety of the client’s and their guests. Nonetheless, it does concern me that our client felt it was a disturbance and I will take the appropriate measures in retraining staff to deal with these situations in a more discreet manner. \r \r In the matter of rude and distrustful personnel, I welcome my client to call me to discuss this in detail. Since I’m unsure of when your event happened, I would need to speak with you to get more information to research and take action. I highly encourage all clients to report missing items to either myself, the Deputy on duty the night of your event or banquet staff. The sooner we are alerted of misconduct the sooner we can investigate and hopefully rectify the situation. Unfortunately I was not notified of the happenings outlined in the client’s review until reading it on this site but I still welcome a discussion. \r \r Sincerely,\r Janet Marhover\r Banquet Manager\r Val Vista Lakes \r 480-926-9694 \r Pros: n/a Cons: n/a
