An aficionado of 'legitimate and traditional' Cuban food, will realize that the Miami/South Florida Area is the hub of such cuisine, and the expectation of quality and taste must be made in comparing so many eateries as traditional, nouveau or outright bastardized styles - taking such considerations, then you're able to compare frijoles to frijoles and yuca to yuca. Because of the vast number of places, the best Cuban victuals are usually to be found in venues that have been around for a very long time and is frequented by locals (Cubans and Cuban-Americans), La Carreta is one such place. I have frequented this location for many, many years. Here, you'll be able to appreciate Cuban Cuisine in its true light, and it is indeed very good! Although the overall experience between the décor and ambience was good and in an unsophisticated way - the service unfortunately is lacking, but the prices were equitable to the value of what we receive - definitely worth the money. We recommend this La Carreta eatery more highly than its other numerous franchises in the area (as this was the first to open many years ago), this being a far better value, much more authentic, with excellent taste as well as overall experience! This is a better choice over Vesailles almost across the street if you're seeking legitimate and traditional, as well as tasty Cuban. …Rick el Gástro Ecléctico!
