I was a member of the club almost 8 years ago before we moved, I was so excited to rejoin when we came back to San Diego! Apparently there was a remodel a few years ago and it definitely looks nicer than I remember it, and has a cafe that overlooks the pool with smoothies, healthy meals, and nutritional supplements. The equipment has GREATLY improved since I was last there, they now have gravity machines and a cute Pilates area for private sessions in addition to group class setting for Pilates and Gravity. The Spin classes are motivating interactive and topnotch The TV's attached to the cardio equipment are modern flat screen which add to the upscale ambiance, and you constantly see staff cleaning, my only concern is that while I see the Personal training staff working out with clients I never see them taking the time to help others who may need a little assistance or instructional advantage, it seems they like to congregate at the desk and if alone keep to themselves. While it doesn't take away from my experience it may for others.\r The only thing that is a total bummer for me was the lack of social interaction the Sporting Club was NOTORIOUS for when we were there, constant parties, events and even a few great wine trips and days @ the races. It appear those days are gone and the event I have gone to so far definitely lacks that zing. I am hoping that they re-claim their social technique and can recapture the glory days of interaction with other members but my few complaints are definitely over shadowed by the atmosphere, upscale amenities (Executive Locker rooms and SPA) and the access to their equally awesome and more social La Jolla club in the Village, it definitely is worth the money and hopefully the wait! Pros: Equipment, cardio theatre, Pilates-Spin-Gravity Cons: no social aspects as anticipated
