I have tried to have dinner at this restaurant 3 different times. The 1st time, I got to the restaurant at 8:30 & the door was already closed. There were no hrs posted on the door so, I didn't think much of it. The 2nd time, I was meeting a friend in Newark. I called to ask what time they closed & I was told 9pm. My friends & I got there at 8:45pm & it was again closed. I called from outside & was told ""we closed at 8:30pm today"". I was meeting a few friends again in Newark & they convinced me to give El Burro another try. One of our friends was inside the restaurant when we got there at 8:40pm. He came out to the door to tell us they were closed. I was upset because I couldn't believe that this was happening. I asked the lady that was upfront ""what time do you close?"" she said ""we are closed now"". I asked her ""what time do you NORMALLY close?"" She answered ""we are closed now"". She was very rude. I asked her again the closing time and she said ""9"". I tried to tell her that it was 8:43pm & she said, ""we are closed"". I told her, ""but, it's not 9pm"". She said, ""it doesn't matter, we are closed"". In all my 17 years in customer service, I had never been talked to or treated this way. I asked for a manager & she responded ""I'm the manager"". I couldn't believe that a restaurant like this would have a manager with such poor service skills. I asked her for her name & she refused to give it to me. Again, I couldn't believe the this manager was answering in this manner. I guess I can't expect much from a manager who is not very professional. That goes to work wearing a pancho and flip flops. We went outside to leave. There were 2 couples that went in while we were in the parking lot and also came out upset that it was closed and not 9pm. Needless to say, I will never step foot into this restaurant. Specially with a manager that has no sense of good customer service and is allowed to make her own closing hour withought acknowledging that customer are not always local. .
Pros: Good appearance from the outside only
Cons: Horrible customer service
