Review content:
My taste in sushi developed while working at a high-end sushi bar in San Diego (unfortunately for my wallet), so when I moved up north, I looked for a really good place in the East Bay. I was really surprised to find a place in Contra Costa County that had high quality fish. I got to know the people there, so they are always kind to me, recommending what is best at the moment. \r \r Their nigiri and sashimi is always cut large, so no complaints about little fish and a lot of rice. I know for a fact, that they only buy high-quality fish; the owner/chef shows me the invoice on orders to discuss quality to price ratios sometimes. \r \r It has never been crowded in the past 9 years I have been going there, which actually scares me, because I don't want it to go out of business. It is simply not in a prime location and doesn't have a lot of visual flare. \r \r If you want high-quality sushi, go here. If you want trendy dishes in a posh atmosphere, go somewhere else. Pros: Awesome sushi (all I really care about), good people, good portions, decent prices Cons: Not best atmosphere, not best for large groups.
