Review content:
Grace Cleaners has now ruined 3 things of mine and I just couldn't keep quiet. This business advertises that they handle cleaning rugs and blankets. Last summer I brought them an extremely expensive twill, wool, area rug that belonged to my great aunt. I asked them if they could handle cleaning it, and was told that they send out their rugs to a special rug cleaning company and was assured that the item would be in good hands. After paying $59.00 I got the rug home and opened it up only to find several wet spots, stains, and 3 large holes. I also was shocked to find that the rug was no longer 8x10 but was about 5x7. I took it back and asked how the rug was cleaned, and was told that it was put in the washing machine! I finally was given a refund after a \r
long argument with the owner. Nonetheless, I figured that perhaps it was just a mistake and I would give them another chance.\r
I also had taken several suits to be dry-cleaned, all of which were somehow much smaller when I got them back. So much so, that the linning in the suit pants was about 1/4"" longer than the actual pant legs. Still, I thought perhaps it was a mistake and if it happened again, that would be it.\r
So....the final straw happened this weekend after I took a down comfortor and a cotton comforter to them and specifically requested that each item be dry-cleaned. When I went to pick up the items, I noticed that they were folded in a laundry bag--much like the regular wash & fold pound laundry. I asked, ""were these blankets dry-cleaned?"" And I was told, ""No. They were washed in the washing machine and dried in our dryers."" Both items are now too small and do not fit my bed. Even though Grace cleaners finally agreed not to charge me the $50.00, I can no longer use the $200 down comforter or the $150 bed-spread. I am fed up, and want to make sure people are aware of how negligent this company is. SO my recommendation is that no one bring anythnig to this place. Beware.
