Review content:
i went to Velleggia's last night. We waited 45 minutes for our food and it was only two other parties in the restaurant which both consisted of two. When the food came my mother's was burnt and not was what she asked for. Since when did Shrimp Alfredo come with fried shrimp. NEVER! The waiter insisted that ""the food is not burnt just a little overcooked."" Right! My mother said that she did not want the food and they took it back and brought her the same plate, now with sauteed shrimp which looked a whole lot better. She said that she didn't feel that she should have to pay full price for her meal because she waited over an hour for her food. The waiter agreed but when i came time for the check, no discount. We asked for the manager, in which we were told that he had to take his child home and was not there. Then was told that we could wait for the manager because he was on his way. He never made it and after waiting about a half an hour we finally left. While waiting we were told by the waiter that she was mad because she gave up a shower to wait on us because of party was supposed to be bigger. As if waiting is not her job anyway.I called and spoke to the owner today and he told me that he doubt that the food was burnt because his staff don't make mistakes and are voted, ""Baltimore's Best"" He also said that she ordered off the menu, but shrimp alfredo is italiana and that was not an issue when she mentioned it to the waiter. Then I asked what about the inconvenience of having to wait for more food? He said, ""Inconvenience? They happens everyday, they are apart of life. I am NOT giving any money back because if i do than everyone would think that they can go to velleggia's and complain and get free food."" Unprofessional and a lack of concern. I will NEVER eat there again, me or my family.
Cons: staff unfriendly and unwelcoming, food overpriced
