Review content:
I've had my hair cut a few times at this location and had good experiences. I hadn't been for a while since I wasn't crazy about my last cut. Yesterday I went as a walk in (big mistake this time) and ended up with a new hairdresser. The girl at the front desk told me she was ""really good!"", but I would never have gone ahead with the cut if I'd known how limited the girl's experience was. Turns out she'd only been there 2 weeks, and I would venture the guess that 2 weeks is the extent of her experience anywhere. I brought a picture to show how I wanted my hair, and also told her I did NOT just want a shorter version of the existing haircut. Told her I wanted layers and lots of framing around the face. Made sure to point out that I wanted a style not just shorter hair. She seemed to understand. She very carefully and slowly cut one long length and then one shorter length as the layer. At that point she acted like she was done and I had to remind her about the face framing. She cut a small portion shorter. After she'd dried it to see if I liked it better, I told her it wasn't at all what I'd asked for and showed her the picture again. To point out how bad it was: I have never complained to a stylist about a haircut before. She kept trying to trim here and there at which point I realized she really only knew how to cut long hair in one style. All one length from front to back with another layer all one length a bit higher up. She started asking me what she should cut to get the look I wanted..yeah, I'm not the hairdresser here, I don't know how to get the look. She was very sweet but obviously not trained enough. After a lot of effort, I finally gave up because I was afraid she'd mess it up worse. It's a horrible, disappointing haircut and I wish to goodness I could get someone else to fix it. My last haircut from a different salon, people raved about the cut and wanted to know where I got it. Unfortunately that salon closed. This one is the kind where people say ""did you cut your hair?..it looks..shorter."" The bad thing is, with such a limited budget, I can't go somewhere else to fix it. Very unhappy with the fact that they would put such an inexperienced hairdresser as the one to take walk-ins without letting people know. She did say to call her back if I wasn't happy when I got home and played with it. Since she didn't know how to cut it to start with, I can't see how that would help. I will not return to Mitchell's again.
