I went to the Pewter Rose based on suggestions that they have a great Sunday brunch. While the food was good, I was completely appalled by the service. And, let's face it, service in a restaurant is just as important as the food, right?. First, we made reservations but had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. I get it...sometimes you are busy and can't completely time the tables...but, 45 minutes late and no apology is inexcusable. Upon being seated, it took 10 - 15 minutes before our waiter even came over to our table. Then another 10-15 minutes to bring our drinks. Then another 10-15 minutes to come back and take our order, despite our telling the waiter that we were ready to order when he brought us our drinks (his response: ""ok, I'll be right back""). (For those keeping tally, that's 30-45 minutes at the table waiting because the waiter was not doing his job). Our food came relatively quickly after the order, but our waiter was never to be found to refill coffee, water, or other drinks. After completing our meal, with our empty plates sitting in front of us for 20 minutes, the waiter came, cleared our table, and gave us our bill. I paid our bill, and given that I waited tables through college and thus am I'm a pretty generous tipper, left him a 25% tip even though he was horrendous. A few minutes later, the waiter comes over and tells us we had to leave the table because there were people waiting. To be honest, I was just in shock as I've NEVER been asked to leave a table before, especially since we were waiting around 50 - 60 minutes for our waiter to serve/take our order/etc. and that I had given him a pretty good tip. I guess in a state of shock, we just got up and left. What I should have done was to ask the waiter for my credit card receipt back, and taken away the entire tip. I will never be going back to the Pewter Rose again.
