Review content:
Two of us went to eat at the Uptown in noblesville. I'm a fan of the diner atmosphere and think it is charming and downhomey. I had never been to the Uptown before, so I was excited to mark it off my list of diners to see in my immediate area. I ordered the rueben. Now lemme tell ya I never order ruebens, just not a big fan of all that bold flavor. I decided to try it anyway. I'm hooked on THIS rueben. the difference is that the chef instead of doing craute she used slaw...she wins! I was impressed with the service, I mean it wasn't slammed or anything but she was very Alice's Diner like. You remember the show right? That was the feeling I got and I loved it. She wasn't trying to kiss butt or schmooze her way into my wallet. She was talking to me and my friend like we were friends of hers. The chef was very accessable as well. She answered all my annoying food questions while she was cooking the guests food. Middle of sentence she stopped talking set up the mans plate and ignored me...PERFECT!!! She tuned me out and payed attention to the needs of the other guest. Which is exactly what I would think one should do in that instant. I'll go back, you betcha! I like the fact that there is a diner that is trying to up the anty a little, and not just spoon you the oil outta the fryer. I like the fact that she's trying to give us something a little healthier. All while still keeping the diner classics available for die hards like me. Thanks again for a good experience
Pros: the atmosphere and the fair. PLUS you can get Earl Gray
