5280 ARMORY is quite an interesting little place set in a partitioned warehouse type building. I liked the layout of the glass displays for their vast handgun selection. Also, they have an interesting assortment of sniper style rifles including a Barrett M99. I had been there before and remember seeing a Barrett M107 on display, as well. My initial impression was that they were right up my alley when it came to my interest in tactical/combat firearms. The first two people that I spoke with seemed to be very friendly and reasonably knowledgeable for the laymen firearm fanatic. However, during my inquiry about various handguns I was approached by a heavy set man behind the counter that was in his late 40's to early 50's. He wreaked of a$$hole from the initial gun snob remarks that he introduced himself with. He stated ""One of the benefits of my position..."" after enlightening me that he had fired all of the new Beretta pistols, which I assume was his way of saying that he owned the shop. I continued to inquire about various pistols of interest, though I had my budget set for a Glock 19 (which I will be purchasing from NEVE's), since I need familiarity with that particular pistol for my career. I asked the gun snob about the mag drop on the new HK pistols and stated that I didn't like it (the old mag drops were larger, and easier to get my finger on, in my opinion), and the guy stated that ""HK doesn't need to justify their pistols,"" which surprised me, because I wasn't taking a stab at HK. He then added the obvious that the new safety is ambidextrous, which I already knew. He profoundly stated that some people may find themselves in situations where they might need to use a ""weak hand"" shooting position, and the ambidextrous mag drop is useful. This is good information, had I asked for it... but I didn't...
Pros: Good selection, good layout.
Cons: Higher than average prices. Stuck up guy working the counter.
