Review content:
Great whiskey selection and all the right beers served efficiently by friendly bartenders. Impressive live Irish bands on a regular basis. What really makes this place, though, is the atmosphere. It's not pretentious or stuffy at all, and everyone there (beautiful beach bunnies down to aging sailors) just wants to have a good time. The convention center and Hyatt are right there, so you'll often run into interesting people from all over the place. It gets crowded, but the atmosphere is such that usually bumping into people just makes for more interesting conversation. The music's loud enough to dance to (no one looks cool dancing to Irish music, but here, no one cares!), but not so loud that you can't carry a conversation with that cute girl from Texas who's in town for a teacher's convention or that group of soldiers just back from the war. I love this bar.
Pros: Excellent atmosphere, great live music, efficient service, and an eclectic crowd.
Cons: Not cheap, especially since you usually have to pay for parking at the Pike's lot. LONG wait for restrooms on busy nights.
