I love good German food! It's here, it's reasonable and its very traditional.\r \r To the devil with French food, this wonderful German place has a lot going on.\r \r I'm not sure where the recipe's really originated, but I have had great German food and this ranks with the best.\r \r My family is full of great cooks. We therefore have a very high standard that has to be met. The Bavarian Brathaus will rock your taste buds!\r \r Where to start? I had the tomato salad. It had some very nice blanched onions added to nice firm perfectly sliced tomatoes and a dressing that brought things together quite well. This is quite a satisfying dish. It was simple in content but big on taste. Yes, you could taste the tomatoes and the onions together and alone. the dressing didn't take away from the vegetables but added just the right touch. I have just about copied this dish at home, but I'm not quite there.\r \r I had the Sauerbraten. It was fabulous. My wife makes this dish at home. Hers is so good it can bring a tear to a born and bred German. The Brathaus version is pretty close. I loved it.\r \r We all shared a bit of each other dish. That's what is nice about having a family that loves and cooks good food. We all put our two cents in. It helps everyone improve their cuisine. I tasted the Goulash. Now this is a dish that some call Hungarian, some Swiss, German and on and on. Wherever it originated, it is a find blend of beef, spice, a bit of red wine and other ingredients that satisfy that comfort food need we all have. The Brathaus version was quite good. It wasn
