Review content:
I have yet to find a perfect place and this one has a ways to go before it is close. There are 1500 sites in this complex and the staff is not going to please everyone. And yes there have been some rude employees in the past but they are gone now. The park manager DOES what the board of directors wants since they are elected by us. In the real world, when the boss tells you to do something a certain way you it. The park managers and security DO require you to be out with the campfires. If this was not done there would be people that would just up and leave to go to another site of the store or something else and leave the fire un-attended. This is the woods folks; if it starts to burn, Lake Stevens does not have near enough equipment to stop it. The rule is a pain at times but that is the way it is. That said, there is a lot that this place has going for it. It is nice to have it all set up so if you decide at the last minute on a Friday afternoon to go camping there is nothing to it. Pack some food and a few clothes and head out. Try doing that at one of the state or county parks west of the Cascades in the summer; not happening! This is the 2nd time we have owned a site there. We had one when the kids were small but as they became teenagers ours lives changed a bit and we no longer used it as much. We have friends with smaller children that were wanting to get in so we sold it to them. As soon as the deal was done we regretted doing it but it was done and we moved on. After the kids were grown and gone and I started working from home we started thinking about buying another site. Found and bought one two years ago and have been up there almost every weekend since! If you like to spend time in the woods and just get away from things this is a good option. It is only 13 miles from my house but we are a world away as soon as we drive through the gate. During the summer there are different activities most every weekend for the kids and the adults. There are two heated swimming pools, hiking trails, playgrounds, and three clubhouses plus a lot more. I hope this review helps. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I agree with the last reviewer; ""The other comments are too harsh"".
