I went to Modesto's 10 years ago and swore I'd never go back. I had a snotty waiter who provided mediocre service, a so-so meal and a whopping big bill.\r

I went again a few weeks ago. I wanted to go somewhere to sit down and talk. I didn't feel like dealing with the casino scene. My options seemed limited. Besides, I wanted to give Modesto's another chance; it'd been a while and some poeple that I work with go all the time.\r

The service was much better, but the food was still mediocre. My entree was overcooked and soggy (fish) with too much sauce. It could have been a lot better. It seemed like the cook was trying to put out fine dining but completely lacked the talent to do so. It is also still overpriced for the quality.
