Review content:
Walking along 7th in the west village we happened upon this establishment that promised entertainment during dinner. The kids are fraidy cats but they love the goofy monster stuff so we stepped in. The first sign that we should've passed on this place was that it was empty on a Friday night. We sat and ordered two child pasta meals right away as the kids were hungry. The waiter refused to take the order before the drink order. Second sign that we should've passed. We placed our drink order along with the child meals and appitizers 5 minutes later. I'm guessing that the waiter was part of the show becuse I couldn't see any other patrons that he needed to serve. When the food was ready we saw our waiter again and he took the two adult meal orders. The food seemed fine, nothing special but how can you go wrong with pasta and butter? We soon found out. After eating 3/4 of her meal my daughter stopped eating. Now this is normal for an eight year old who's excited to just watch the entertainment. When she told me why she wanted to stop eating I couldn't beleive it. There was a fly inside of her penne!! After flagging down the waiter he said that he didn't understand how a fly got inside of her penne. He offered to take her meal off of the bill but when my wife insited that they remove both pasta meals he reufused. Stating that my son ate half the food. My wifes agrument was that the food prepared toghether so if my daughter's pasta was not any good then how could my sons pasta be good. The manager offered shirts and mugs worth far more than the meal but my wife only wanted the meall off of the menu. When we couldn't come to an agreement we just asked for our bill. We noticed that there was a gratuity already included. The gratuity came to 18% of the meal. Since I didn't agree that the waiter deserved 18% I took the cost of the meal off of the gratuity. The manager chased us down 7th asking for the additional $10 I refused and walked away.
Pros: mecchanical entertainment was fun
Cons: food and service
