Review content:
My girlfriend and I recently visited Family on the Philadelphia Automall to look for a quality used SUV.\r \r Family had very nice 2004 Jeep Cherokee Limited that we were looking over when we were engaged by a salesman named Manny. Manny began his pitch & it became evident that his knowledge of the model went no farther than it was a ?Special Edition?, which was OK because I am pretty familiar with it from my research. We explained to him that we had other SUVs to look at & he promptly offered this Jeep to us for 15K OUT THE DOOR and stated he had manager approval to do so. We told him that we liked the offer, but still needed to complete our du diligence on the other dealerships. He gave me a card and told me the offer stood if I came back.\r \r After viewing the other models, we decided that the Jeep at Family was the best vehicle and good value and met Manny the following evening. This is where things went downhill?.\r \r Manny told us that the manager couldn?t sell the Jeep for the promised 15K OTD, but could sell it to us at a $100 profit for $15,800 PLUS TAXES AND TAGS (approx $1,500). Annoyed, we got up to leave and Manny changed his tune again. He offered to sell it to us ?at a loss? for $15,200 + taxes and tags. \r \r Further annoyed, I asked Manny to go to the manager for a price the Jeep with a 3 year extended warranty and to remind him of the pricing screw-up that was made. When Manny came back with the exact same numbers + $1,500 for a warranty, we walked out and bought another Jeep from a different dealer.\r \r Manny and Family Dodge reinforced my belief that scumbags flock to the career of car salesmen. Further compounding my frustration was Manny?s lack of knowledge of the SUV he was trying to sell me. Because of this lousy experience, I will never visit either of Family?s dealer locations in the future.\r Cons: Slimy salesman, complicit sales manager
