Review content:
I stopped in last night with my wife for a quick dinner and had the lasagna with meatballs and garlic bread. I have only been to Geraldi's once before and tried their Chicago Beef sandwich and enjoyed it, so we figured we should try something else.
Our lasagna came out covered in marinara with a couple of housemade meatballs on the side of the plate. The pasta was perfectly cooked, not mush like so many other places. It was also fully loaded with cheese and was absolutely wonderful.
My only complaint about the lasagna was that it could have been a little hotter for my liking. It was perfect until the middle, which was a little warm, but not hot. That happens, it's not like it came out chilled or frozen in the middle.
The meatballs were nice and tender, not toughened by overworking like can so easily happen. Add in the fact that they are not overloaded with extraneous amounts of vegetables and I was very happy.
While there could have been a little more garlic to the garlic bread for my liking, it was still pleasant and not greasy.
All in all, the food was well worth the money, the place was clean, the service quick and friendly, and I felt good about the overall experience. Everyone that knows me, knows how much I hate places like Olive Garden, so it's not much of a stretch that I say go to someplace like Geraldi's before you ever go to OG. We will definitely be going back to try out their pizza sometime in the near future.
