I ordered a special cake for my daughters birthday. I knew it was a challenging request but the Alafaya location assured me they could do it. We agreed they would not use fondant in order to keep the price down but that it would still look amazing. It was supposed to be a 3D unicorn with rainbow horn, hooves, tail, hair, and wings. I picked it up and was immediately disappointed. I am not the type of person to complain though so I faked a smile and left. When my husband saw the cake he knew we had been ripped off and he called to speak with the manager. He told the manager we were unhappy that the cake was disproportionate. The manager started screaming, swearing, told my husband to get his head out of his A$* and hung up on him. I was shocked. My husband called back and tried again to see what could be done to fix the situation. She started screaming again. I took the phone from my husband and tried to say excuse me can we speak and the lady again hung up. This is so unprofessional and rude. The issues with the cake were as follows: It was supposed to be a unicorn, it looked like a hippo, it was supposed to have rainbow horn and hooves - they were yellow and white, it was supposed to say happy birthday with my daughters name on the base - it didn't they just put some pipped grass and that was it, it was supposed to feed at least 20 people it was the size of my hand and only fed 15 very tiny pieces. The butt of the horse was the biggest part, the legs were skinnier than my pinky-finger, and the neck and head were too small for the body. By the time I got the cake home the head was already disconnecting from the body too. It was a huge disappointment. Had the company offered to switch the cake for some rainbow cupcakes we would have been much happier. They did not care they had made such a horrible creation though and claimed it was worthy of the show Cake Boss. This cake was not worthy of the dumpster. If you have ever seen American Idol where the people who sound like dying animals claim they are the best singers in the world...that was exactly like what this was. It was a train wreck made way worse by a manager that should be fired.
