I have frequented this store for over 10 years so I was SHOCKED to read JoHos review! I couldn't disagree more!
This is one of the BEST consignment stores in all of New England! I have purchased many items over the years for personal use and for resale in my business Everything from Authentic Tiffany Jewelry, platinum and diamonds, sterling silver flatware and holloware, Georg Jensen, signed Modernist pieces,and other lovely rarities. The Shop's personnel are knowledgeable,genuinely warm, friendly and helpful. Items are carefully selected, and many are refused for conignsignment if not up to their high standards. The store is beautifully displayed, and it is a new and different store EACH time you go. Merchandise is priced reasonably, BUT....THEY ALSO HAVE AN AUTOMATIC REDUCTION PROGRAM! Every 30 days the price drops and you can tell by looking at the date on the ticket. if it is not sold it is taken off the shelf, so the stock never gets old or stale.
I have also sold through them as a consignor and was pleased my checks and their professionalism.
If you want to have lunch while there it is very close to the historic Wayside Inn. Bullfinches restaurant is conveniently located in the same plaza.(Although I have not eaten at Bullfinches my family has held a party there and said it was very good). There is also a Pizza place next door if you just want a salad or to grab something quick
My advice? Ignore Johos and just go go!
