Review content:
My husband and I have been to Rangmahal more than a dozen times, even though it's out of the way for us. The amazing thing is that it is consistently excellent in every way. The food is by far the best Indian my husband and I have ever dined on -- and we've eaten in several Indian restaurants in New York City. My husband (who's Jewish) calls the owners his ""Indian Mama and Papa."" He loves the way they both visit the table and check on whether everything is OK and if we're enjoying the meal. Every item on the menu is exceptional, from the moist delicious chicken tandoori to more exotic items on the specials menu, such as prawns in papaya sauce and other surprising flavors. The mix of spices is like pure alchemy on some of the dishes. Okra is one of my favorite vegetables, and even though my husband doesn't normally like it much, he raves about the way bindi is prepared there -- carmelized and crispy and surprisingly scrumptious. I can't say enough about what a pleasure it is to have dinner at Rangmahal.
Pros: Food is tremendously good, service is terrific, atmosphere is intimate
Cons: None. Although it is not cheap, it is worth every penny.
