Significant life changes, thanks to Carmela! One year ago I had my first consultation with her at the Acupuncture Healing Center in Chapel Hill, NC. Today I feel grateful for how profoundly her guidance and her work have changed my life. Carmela was recommended to me when I was searching for new solutions to a chronic migraine problem... I used to get migraines anywhere from 2-6 times a month and also suffered from severe energy depletion related to undiagnosed/ untreated allergies. In the past 10 months I have had only 2 minor migraines (one in August, one in December, so they were very spread out) and have more energy and more clarity than I have had in over 10 years. Seriously. I am in my mid-forties and feel like I am in my late 20s again. This was not a miracle cure – these benefits took time to become as evident as they are now (but definitely started to kick in about 6 weeks into working with Carmela), and I had to make many changes to my lifestyle. In the past year I have learned to give up the following: all gluten, processed food (as much as possible), most sugar, all caffeine after my morning tea and all pharmaceuticals... this was NOT easy, especially at first, but I always felt taken care of and I felt that Carmela was working WITH me, which is what made it all possible. Her approach is a very holistic one, focusing on the QUALITY of my life, rather than on QUANTITATIVE elements that could somehow be measured. I have graduated from weekly acupuncture treatments to once-a-month maintenance and feel like an entirely different person than the one who first walked through their door a year ago. I now go to Carmela if I begin to feel ill in any way and remain amazed at the power of acupuncture to turn my body around so very quickly. I am seeing my MD only 1x/year for a physical I am so very glad that I took the chance and started this journey. CC
