Review content:
We decided to try Philippe because it's so well-known. Arriving at a busy time, we waited in line (rather, in the crowd - lines were not well defined) for about forty minutes, all the while looking forward to the food, since so many people in line were raving about it. A lot of them were out-of-towners who claimed to stop at Philippe every time in town.
Food-wise, the sandwiches are rather bland. The pies are pretty decent, as is the coleslaw. It's just another sandwich joint. Eat upstairs to avoid the crowd. Price-wise, it's mediocre. If you can go when there's no or little wait, and you only need a sandwich, then it's good for that.
Pros: laid-back
Cons: parking, wait, service
