Review content:
The Crossing has so much potential but disrespectful and just outright dirty residents ruin such a gorgeous property. My fiance and I fell in love with The Crossing in July 2010 and moved in by the end of August 2010. Initially it was peaceful and clean with lots of parking. \r
\r
The first problem we encountered was ants. Many many ants that took over our kitchen. We invested in our own products to get rid of the ants and we unfortunately had to throw away the majority of our food. The office showed concern and contacted an exterminator, which helped a little. As the weather got colder the ants disappeared but I'm sure they'll be back when it gets warmer. \r
\r
As more residents moved in things started to quickly go downhill. We must live with the dirtiest and most rude people out there. I don't know where to start... \r
\r
People let their heavy front doors slam with no concern for the time of day. The trash cans in the parking garage are not only are filled to the brim with trash but they over flow with trash and there is even trash on the floor! Maintenance has to come and pick up other people's trash as if the residents couldn't do it themselves. There was even barbecue sauce smeared on the ground next to the trash can. People don't break down cardboard boxes and just leave them next to the trash cans for maintenance to do something about it. The mail room has junk mail overflowing the counters and trash cans. People let their dogs pee and poop in the hallways and in the parking garage and don't clean up after them! One time we were in the hot tub and there were unsupervised TODDLERS wearing diapers in there! The parents let their children play in the hot tub and didn't do anything as their child's diaper was dissolving in the water! On our level some dirty and disgusting individual dragged the trash down the hallway to the trash room. They dragged it! By dragging it they left a beautiful trail for us other residents to admire as we walk to our apartments. It is a permanent stain and maintenance now has to rent a power washer and steamer to clean it. The Crossing is a nonsmoking property yet our neighbors smoke. My fiance and I have not confirmed it is them but we are almost certain. There are cigarettes left in the hallway next to our apartment, if you go down the stairs after they were there it smells like smoke, and even sometimes when you take the elevator after they did. I have serious respiratory problems, which is why we chose a nonsmoking property so this is very frustrating. My fiance and I drive eco-friendly cars so my fiance has a sticker that allows him to park in a ""Low Emission Vehicle"" parking spot. But, of course, there are non-LEV vehicles parking there so he has to drive around after a long day at work searching for a parking spot. My fiance has had soda cups placed on top of his car and this past week he had PAINT BALLS shot at his car. The individual shot paint balls on the wall of the parking garage. This is completely unacceptable. People like to go out on their balconies and talk on their cell phones and have loud conversations late into the night. Also, people like to watch sports and yell at the top of their lungs with their windows and doors open. People let their children run around and yell throughout the property with complete disregard for others. \r

I am sure there is more, which makes us very sad. The property has so much potential but the residents have completely ruined it. The office staff is friendly but they don't do much to resolve the issues. We have reported and documented all these issues. We are happy inside our beautiful apartment but once we step outside we are very disappointed.
