Review content:
This is my 3rd time going to Taps and for the most part, has always been an enjoyable experience. The ambiance is nice. It's not too loud where you have to scream or too quiet where you feel as if you have to whisper every word. Our server (Travis) was very pleasant and professional. He greeted us right away and made sure our drinks were always full and visited our table often. We ordered the appetizer sampler ($27) which included calamari, crab & artichoke dip and new orleans style bbq shrimp. The bbq shrimp was rich in flavor, the dip was very creamy with tons of crab meat and the calamari had a nice batter, crispy and not too chewy. For our entree, we ordered the fish & chips and a bowl of gumbo. For not being a cajun style restaurant, the gumbo is pretty good. Not authentic, but close enough to remind me of home having lived in New Orleans for 19 years. Today, however, it was a little burnt (probably from sitting on the stove a little too long), but I would still recommend. Taps also boasts their impressive oyster bar, offering oysters from different regions (but with a hefty price tag).\r

The only negative is the price. In my opinion, it's a little pricey for the type of restaurant and food served. But overall a nice place to eat. Enjoy
Pros: ambience, service, and the gumbo
Cons: a little pricey
