Suchi was one of our favorite haunts ever since it opened 5 or 6 years ago! We used to go there ALL the time and take family, friends and clients. Venue, who was the host then, was one of the best restaurateurs ever! He was always on top of things ? making sure the food was good and served on time, and that the buffet was warm and replenished regularly! He circled the tables and talked to everyone, made certain that everyone was happy and enjoyed the food! He made a lot of good friends and we miss him!\r \r As for the food, this was one of The Best Indian restaurants in the Triangle area. When my grandma was alive, I used to bring her here; she didn?t like eating out but she loved the food at Suchi, and that?s really saying something because she herself was an amazing cook! The value was also great because two people could have a great dinner (with drinks) for about $25 to $30! The buffet was wonderful and when the wait staff made fresh naans or dosas, they always asked if you wanted some and were kind enough to bring piping hot dosas and naans to our table! I remember meeting students from NCSU who would come and eat Indian style with their fingers, and even lick their fingers afterwards with relish because the food was so good and the whole experience was so much fun!\r \r Unfortunately that's not the case anymore. The last time we went to Suchi was on Valentine?s Day this year. We were not sure if we wanted to eat there and were just peeking in when they told us there was a special for two people for $20 without alcoholic drinks? So we decided to try the buffet, which was much smaller and nothing like the spread that used to be there before. However, when we went to pay the bill, we were shocked because it was $20 per person ? so it was $40 for both of us! We were really annoyed at being tricked like that! Now if the buffet was halfway decent, we wouldn?t have cared, but it was not that great, and I agree with some of the reviews on here about the food. Cons: food, service
