Do NOT plan a wedding here! Have not camped here, but did try to plan a wedding at Bailey's Palomar Resort. Thought it would be an AMAZING outdoor wedding, beautiful ranch style, and intimate for family and friends. Bailey's CANCELED our wedding 6-7 months before the wedding, after all of our save-the-dates, lodging contracts without outside housing, vendors, and details were planned or severely under way. We had trouble getting an official contract signed with the Bailey?s. We agreed on a contract verbally and put down a deposit. After we had agreed on all the terms and pricing, the Bailey's raised the price and sent us a revised contract. Each time a new contract was drafted, the Bailey's would add new items to it, therefore making it un-signable. This happened several times, with several price increases. We never did get a version we felt comfortable signing, or complied with the specifications discussed on the previous contract. We wrote them an email that we had had enough, and wanted to stick with our original terms, and ?suddenly? our wedding was canceled the next morning. They canceled it due to ""logging on the mountain, and therefore property,"" but we called the manager in charge of logging on the mountain, and the manager said the logging would be finished in February (wedding was scheduled for July). We asked if there would even be a remote possibility it would continue into summer, or even late spring (the Bailey?s reason for cancellation), and she said absolutely not! I would NOT recommend planning a wedding here. It is very hard to have your dream wedding visualized, planned, and shared, and then have to start over from scratch :-( I would look elsewhere, so that the wedding you dream and plan actually happens. As a side note, we rescheduled at San Diego Botanic Gardens in Encinitas, and they were kind, honest, helpful, and trustworthy. Our ?second? wedding, was as wonderful as we could have ever hoped for, and perhaps more beautiful in the end! Perhaps God had a better plan for us than we did :-)
