I have always maintained a neutral stance towards Walmart. I go there occasionally and have always received decent service, but I've never had to return anything until now either. \r

The other day, I purchased a cassette adapter for 10.00. Unfortunately after leaving I saw that the wire is exposed on a small part, and it didn't work. Today I went to the so-called customer service desk for an exchange. There was only one person working the desk and quite a few people in line, it was 20 minutes before I got to the front. Then the associate looked at the adapter, and shook her head saying ""mm-mmm."" \r

When I asked her what that meant, she called me a liar that I had just purchased it because there was no way their merchandise would have exposed wires. I asked to speak to her manager, who said that the item was not returnable because I didn't have the plastic packaging it came in. I pointed out the huge sign behind her saying that they accept returns with a receipt. She shrugged and refused to help me. \r

Now I understand why Walmart is so hated, because their service is exceptionally terrible! I'll be buying a new adapter at Target.
