Businiess name:  The Firm A Workout Studio
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
The Firm is currently housed in an old warehouse, and is located somewhat off the beaten path. Although I 've never taken classes there (spinning, aerobics, yoga, and so on), I've heard nothing but raves about them, and there are devotees who practically live at the place. \r \r However, I do like to work out with weights and use cardio machines, and in this area The Firm is sorely lacking. A lot of the weight equipment was replaced a few years ago, but it's still fairly inadequate. There is no squat cage in the main gym; nowhere to do deadlifts, apart from a Smith machine. There used to more machines for back and shoulders, but they were removed. It seems as though a couple of treadmills are always out of order. Plus, there are usually a lot of dust bunnies floating around and, overall, the place doesn't seem clean. The steam room has been out of order for years, and the shower room often smells (and looks) kinda funky. Out of town visitors beware: a day pass will cost you $25, which is outrageous - especially if all you want to do is use the gym. Some of the people at the front desk are friendly and helpful, especially on Saturday afternoons, but many of them act as though they couldn't care less about the clientele.\r \r Pros: The classes, the people who takes the classes\r \r Cons: The gym, the locker room\r \r You could do worse than The Firm, I suppose - e.g., Balley's - but you can find nicer, better-equipped gyms in the area.
