Review content:
I've had two extremely unsavory incidents with Dashing Diva that has turned me off to them forever. The first such incident occurred last month; I purchased a Gift Certificate at the Dashing Diva located on Columbus Avenue between 88th and 89th. The certificate says that it must be used at the location where purchased, but the sales associate assured me that the certificate could really be used at any Dashing Diva in the city. When the recipient attempted to cash in the certificate at the Dashing Diva on Smith Street in Brooklyn, it was rejected. This clearly means that either the sales associate at the Dashing Diva uptown lied, or the associate at Dashing Diva in Brooklyn was wrong. Furthermore, I recently made an appointment at the Dashing Diva on Smith Street in Brooklyn and was 10 minutes late due to circumstances beyond my control. I called the store twice to inform them of my tardiness, and was subsequently placed on hold and then hung up on. When I arrived, I was told I couldn't get a pedicure for the rest of the evening, and was offered no alternatives when I explained that I was hung up on when called. This, despite the fact that there were obviously unoccupied technicians in the salon and several hours until closing time. I have been to many upscale nail salons in New York City and occasionally I've been a few minutes late due to circumstances beyond my control but I have NEVER been told to go away. This company charges far too much for their services to then treat their customers so poorly. Plus their special Dashing Diva nail polish chips off the next day. This place is a dump.
Cons: overpriced, rude staff
