Review content:
The first time I went to Fiamma for dinner, it was a fantastic experience. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairings, and our server was wonderful. She knew all about the food and wine, and made the experience really enjoyable. I went back last Friday with my boyfriend's parents. Major mistake. Our server could not even recommend a wine off the wine list, and told us that ""he only works there when he wants to because he's been with them for so long."" He could barely get the specials out of his mouth. Needless to say, at that point I should have asked for another server but my boyfriend didn't want me to look too ""New Yorker"" in front of his parents. We sent back the wine because it tasted like they'd literally watered it down and also had to send back the lamb, which we'd ordered medium-rare and was still cold inside. I will not go back. Too bad, because it was a great experience the first time!
Pros: decor and scene factor
Cons: service and price
