Review content:
This restaurant is well-deserving of its reputation as that of a Seattle institution. Simply said, Canlis is one of Seattle's best restaurants. The staff is courteous and hospitable without being over-bearing, and specifically speaking, the servers and wine steward and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when offering suggestions. Canlis boasts one of the most extensive wine lists on the entire West coast, which includes both cost-effective and top shelf wines from around the globe. The food is still top notch after many years in business, and personally I don't think I've ever had a steak cooked/prepared as perfectly as any I've enjoyed at Canlis. Perched atop a bluff near the Aurora bridge, the ambiance here is superb, with one of the nicest vistas available to Seattle diners (private dining rooms are also an option); a perfect setting for a romantic dinner. I'll continue returning again and again for those evenings when I wish to make my special occasions feel more special.
