Businiess name:  Canlis
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
I have dined at Canlis 13 of the 15 times my business has brought me to Seattle in the last 6 months. Every time I enjoy watching the blatant displays of self-importance and projected airs onto this staff who so obviously do uphold the idea that you are being welcomed into their ""home."" I would (like the rest of the country) place Canlis among the likes of Charlie Trotter's, Fr. Laundry, 5th Floor; Canlis is out of Seattle's league. We found the food comforting and were happy with the Northwest staples skillfully prepared. I was upset that night to find an older patron yelling at the young Asian server as if she were deaf assuming she could not understand when she spoke perfect English. Canlis fills its delicate role perfectly, keeping one foot in the grave by giving deference to its aging regulars while reinventing itself for the next generation! Pros: SERVICE!, views, wine, cocktail, owners on site Cons: large groups on floor, small bar area
