I don't understand sammijo's review at all- I loved this place! Yes, you walk down a hallway to get to the spa, simply because it's in a building with other businesses! It's not a standalone spa, so it shares a building with other offices/businesses. Not a big deal to me at all. And the dog wasn't there when I went for my treatment, but it was there the day I made the appointment. It was very sweet and actually stayed behind the desk until I crouched down to pet it- then it came to me. It was very calm. I guess if you hate animals, then yes, it's a drawback for the dog to simply be in the same room. But if you're indifferent or like them, then it's kind of cool to see the dog there (who Kathleen told me is a therapy dog, by the way).\r \r My husband and I went to Salon West last night, where I got a facial and a massage, and he got a massage. First off, Kathleen was SO helpful with the information she gave me about my skin during the facial. She really took the time to spell out in detail how I could help my skin. It was obvious that she wasn't just feeding me the same information she gives everyone, and she gave me tips that were helpful given my low budget. She truly cares about her craft, and she obviously is invested in making her customers happy. I went in with a cold, and she specialized the type of essential oils being used, and by the end, I could breathe again! I've had other facials, but this one was the best by far.\r \r As far as the massages go, they were really good too. The massage therapist checked in several times to make sure the pressure was right, I was warm enough, I was comfortable, etc. She also worked on my sinuses because of my cold. She asked me ahead of time about what was bothering me, where she should focus, what areas to target, etc. She was really good.\r \r I would definitely return to Salon West. I had some scheduling issues (and a gift certificate that was about to expire), and Kathleen was very accommodating and told me not to worry about the expiration date, that the spa experience is not supposed to be stressful, etc. She was so helpful and was very prompt in returning phone calls. I highly recommend this spa, at least for the facials and massages! Pros: Flexible scheduling, knowledgeable staff
