I thought to give is place a try whilst driving through the wonderfully delapidated area of Hilltop. They have expanded and redecorated the place into a bamboo nightmare, from the fluffy coulds painted on a sky blue ceiling to the fish tank reminiscent of the bottom of Thea Foss' waterway. Our server was a real treat, too. When asked if the vegetarian pho was made with vegetable broth or beef broth her answer was, ""It have tofu."" Grrreat. Pressing our server further she relented with a ""yes, it is beef broth"" . Deciding to not take any chances I went with the Vegetarian egg rolls - the first appetizer on the menu while pointing to the word VEGETARIAN. My partner ordered a curry dish with tofu and I settled for the Swimming Rama. He ordered the papaya bubble tea, I thought that sounded delicious so I followed suit going for the green tea flavor - whereupon our server repeated what I had asked for three times incorrectly, I changed my order to a Vietnamese Coffee. The eggrols were served promptly, my partner took a big bite of his eggroll, I watched his face loose all color. Through a half chewed mouthful he sputtered, ""This has meat in it!"" I cut my egg roll open with my fork to discover cooked pink and white flesh clinging to bean sprouts oozing with shiny oil. He should have blown that insolent mouthful all over the place but instead he put it into my napkin. I was convinced that our server's grasp on the english language was poor and comprehension was even worse. What I don't understand is why she served us meat after we spent five minutes inquiring about our vegetarian options. We have been vegetarians for five years and NEVER have I been shown such disregard to my not ever wanting to eat an animal. If you choose to eat at this imbroglio establishment please alot yourself at least three hours for gastrointestinal discomfort and gas with oily discharge. And save room for the disregard of your beliefs and a steaming hot side of meat. Pros: Do you like getting sick? Cons: You name it. Complete disregard for customer requests.
