Review content:
Current conditions have not improved. O2 at Brennen Station is going through a club manager about every 9 months now. For awhile the maintenance improved but it has fallen back. While on a Precor Eliptical machine with a TV the other day a woman got on to the machine next to me for awhile and then got off. A few minutes later she was back. She asked me how to change the channel on the TV and I told her it was broken. She got very upset saying she had gone around the cardio deck and not one of the available machines was working properly. She wanted me to sign a petition. Now two of the four vey popular Precor machines are broken again as the members begin to increase their usage for fall. They have been broken for several weeks with no relief in sight. I recommend you look elsewhere for a club. This is no better than the $10.00/month clubs and it costs a lot more.\r

I have read all the 4 and 5 star reviews for this club. They are over rated and/or outdated. The club is clean and the staff is very good but there are many machines not functioning properly on the Cardio Deck. Some of the elipticals have TV's that don't work and audio jacks that are so worn that they won't play at all. People are constantly remarking about how many are malfunctioning. People get on one after the other looking for a good one. I have complained politely 4 times and another person I know has also. They are very nice and act like they didn't know about the problem. Then nothing is done. One TV has been out for over 9 months. Insiders that work there say that the owner won't come up with the money to make the necessary fixes. They have a maintenance man but he doesn't have the skill to repair the electronics. A manager at another club once told me that there is a sizable service charge for the qualified service personal so they won't call them. Whatever the case, the equipment is the heart and soul of a fitness club and this one is not anywhere near where it should be. Three stars is stretching it. \r

Here's a May 7 update. There are still many machines out of service. they have a new Technician and he seems to be able to fix some problems but not others. There are 4 precor elipticals that are favorites of many members. All of them have issues. Two of the TV's are not working and two can't be adjusted for volume. I have seen the Tech work on them without any improvement. My guess is they require expensive replacement parts and the owner isn't willing to pay for them. Some of us have had to go to another club to get the machines we want. \r

Well, it's March of 2013 and not very much has changed which leads me to believe it never will. Each year we pay an equipment upgrade fee but the only new equipment we ever see is a central tower designed to be used by the trainers for their paying clients. Not one new piece of cardio or exercise equipment has been added in 3 years. Of all the cardio equipment available there are only 4 of the most popular eliptical machines. The machines have built up such a following it is like a scrimmage game to get one almost anytime of the day, especially when one or more isn't working as is the case now. A new fitness company now plans to build a 100,000 sq. ft facility in North Raleigh. I, for one, cannot wait. I will be one of the first to sign up.
