Review content:
Group of us went to La Famiglia for restaurant week and had a truely aweful night. We didn't even see a (food-stained paper) menu for over an hour. Even at that point I was trying to be understanding because it was a busy night and restaurant week is probably not their favorite time of the year; But then the food came and it was nearly inedible. Gnocci's were overcooked until they were mush, polenta tasted like a salt lick; only thing that was OK was eggplant. My friend got the steak entre and it actually was inedible; we all tried it and it tasted like leather;ordered medium rare but cooked until it was rubbery. Everything else we got was only moderately better than that. I eat almost anything without complaining but I have had hot pockets that were gourmet meals compared to the trash they served us. They should have been embarassed to put that in front of us, it was insulting. I'm sure the experience would be different during a normal week but if that is the best they can do then they should not participate in restaurant week. There are other Italian restaurants in the area that are consistently very good (Radicchio, La Loconda) so I will never return to this place again.
