Review content:
Be warned that The Historic Del Monte Building is not flexible when it comes to your own special touches if are not within their ""normal"" operating procedures and that their ?packages? are not all they seem. To name just a few examples (there are more) ? (1) We asked to have assigned seating for our guests at their tables and were told that this was ?highly irregular? and that they could not accommodate. I don?t know about you, but I have been to several weddings where my name card was at the table when I got there and my significant other?s right next to mine. (2) Since we had a large wedding, we decided on a cake from their ?package? selection for the cake cutting ceremony and to use sheet cakes for the rest of the guests to save cost. Just one week before the wedding we received a call from the baker saying that Del Monte told them that they ?do not do sheet cakes?. This forced us to add another layer to our cake, for an extra $100. Apparently The Del Monte gets and additional ?slice? for upgrades. (3) They changed the centerpiece style included in the ?package? after we signed the contract. When we didn?t like the new ones, they offered us only $6.50 a piece as a credit. Now, with all that said... Our wedding went off without a hitch. The somewhat rude and inflexible wedding coordinator did not show (thank God!) and the staff working the wedding was WONDERFUL! They were friendly and professional and ensured that we (the wedding party) were fed (it was a buffet) and the guests taken care of. The food was excellent, the DJ kept the party hoping, and the staff was not quick to throw us out at the end of the evening when we needed time to collect our belongings. In fact, they allowed for my parents to come back the next day to collect some items that wouldn?t fit in their car. So, if you can put up with a condescending coordinator and don?t have any ?special? requests, The Historic Del Monte Building just might be a good choice for you.
Pros: Floor staff, DJ, Food, Ambience
Cons: Inflexible coordinator, ""package"" deal deceiving
