Review content:
We were seated smack dab in the very center of the restaurant in what felt more like a service lane than a dining table. We ordered appetitizers, and 2 of the evening's specials; petite filet entree, and grilled fish that was promised to be deboned tableside - according to the waiter who offered the specials to not just our table but also to the table next to us in tandem. When we were about to be served, we were told that the grilled fish special would be prepared in the kitchen instead of tableside because they couldn't fit the cart into our aisle. I expressed my disappointment to.... no one because the waiter rushed away and disappeared before he could hear my comment. Shortly after we were served and ate, our check was presented, then we were invited to watch a fish be deboned 2 tables away from us, which we both found to be an offensive and rude offer. The food may have been flavorful but it was completely deminished by the service and atmosphere. Actually, the fish was dry and chewy. We felt like they chose greed over customer care, because they jammed us into the only remining space and shared our service with neighboring tables. Perhaps they were trying to make us feel like we were being served family-style? I didn't get it. We have dinner at least twice a month in Collingswood and have always enjoyed our experience until tonight. We won't be returning to Sapori.
