Review content:
I read the reviews by others and can't understand what they are talking about. I used to live in hoboken and one of my regrets about moving to Astoria is that I can't come here as often as I would like.
I still try since I am a very picky eater. I have introduced several of my friends to this restaurant over the years and they have always had a good experience.
Yesterday, my girlfriend ordered ""Lichee with shrimp"" which was also quite tasty. Just be careful when you order the fruit dishes to ask if it is sweet cause you might get the cloying feeling midway through your entree. Thankfully we had my favorite dish is the ""butternut squash with chicken"" to balance it out.
Topped off with fresh coconut water, we were in absolute heaven.
Since the other reviews have a bone to pick about the service, I will say this. The service itself was good in a normal, non-intrusive but attentive manner. They didn't have to do back flips to satisfy us but I have come to expect decent service and get unhappy only if we have trouble catching the attention of the waiter like in Rosa Mexicana. In all the times that I have been to Satay Malaysian, this has been my normal experience.
The only time I had to wait for 15 minutes was lunchtime on July 4th weekend when the place was packed. That seemed reasonable to me.
Pros: Simple, Butternut squash with chicken so yummy
Cons: A bit of a trek
